Another Lacrosse Victoria league Best & Fairest has come from FLC, with Division 2 Men’s captain Lee Jones named the best in his competition.
Jones had an outstanding season, throwing 21 goals and 11 assists, leading the league for the combined statistics.
He was able to steer the Division 2 side the top of the table before the season was cancelled, playing eight games without a loss.
Division 2 coach Lachlan Williams praised Jones for his season.
“Lee is fully deserving of this award, having put together a stellar season,” he said.
“Not only was he able to frequently hit the scoreboard, he was always finding ways to bring his teammates into the game and drive the standards for the side on the field.
“As captain, Lee lead the team by example and has been invaluable to the younger players in the group.
“Lee has been fantastic to work with this season and thoroughly deserves this award. Congratulations Jonesy.”
He finished two votes clear at the top, recording 11 votes for the season.
Jones wasn’t the only Bulldog to feature well in the Division 2 standings, with three of his teammates also finishing inside the top 10.
Dane Kowal and Luke Jacques polled six votes each to finish equal fourth, while Steve Hecker finished equal eighth with five votes.
