Men’s Divisions

This past weekend all three of our under 11 teams played at home.  The Green team took on a fierce Eltham Russell team and played a very hard fought game right down to the last whistle.  The team came up a little short falling by a score of 12-15.  The point leaders on the day were Samuel Tonelli with 3 goals and 7 assists and Harrison Lester with 8 goals and 1 assist.  Our Silver under 11 team faced a tough opponent in Wyndham this past weekend and played a complete game.  The team lead the entire way with the final score being 19-2.  The scoring leaders on the game were Rosie Gaden with 8 goals and 3 assists, Lillian Walsh with 2 goals and 3 assists, Grace Martin with 3 goals and 3 assists, and Isabelle Thomas and Rangimarie Gemmell each contributing a goal.  Our final under 11 team the White team took on a good Eltham Durham squad and it was a very competitive game from start to finish.  The White team came out with the victory with a final score of 17-12.  There were a lot of different scorers in this game but the leading point scorers were Jake Mannix 8 goals and 1 assist, Jack Gereardi 4 goals and 3 assists, Gus Crawford with 2 goals and 4 assists, and Valerio Catoggio with 3 goals and 2 assists.  All three teams are back in action this coming Saturday July 29, 2017.

Under 13’s this week had a very tough opponent in Williamstown.  The team fought hard the entire game but could not seem to catch a break when it came to scoring the ball.  The final score of the game was 14-0 in favor of Williamstown.  The team hopes to train hard this week so that this coming weekend they can get that much-needed win.  The team takes on Surrey Park Red on Saturday July 29, 2017 at Albert Ground 1 at 9:00am.

The under 15’s played a tough game against Willamstown this past weekend.  The team played a good game unfortunately coming up a little short by a score of 10-4.  The team played earned every score it had with Kyle Chamberlain leading all scorers with 2 goals and Elliot Johns and Broden Watsen having a goal each.  The team keeps improving and is looking better and better for this coming weekend as they face Malvern/Chadstone at 10:30am at Angliss Reserve 1.

Our under 17 team played a very good Caulfield/Malvern/Chadstone team this past weekend.  The team showed that they can play but ended up falling short of the win by a score of 6-11.  The point leaders on the were Joel Kukucka, Will Mcdonald and Jackson Marsh all had great days scoring the ball.  There was also excellent goalie play in the net by Blake Watson coming up with some big saves on the day.  The team looks to pick up a win this coming weekend against a good Williamstown side.

Our division 3 team unfortunately this past weekend could not field a team and had to give Eltham a walk over.  The team was short due to some of the team having to help out with Division 1 and state leagure due to both teams being hurt with some injuries.  The team looks to play a competitive game this coming weekend against Chadstone at 12:45pm at Treyvaud Memorial Reserve 1.

The Division 1 team this past weekend took on Malvern a good team who plays hard in every game.  This game was a competitive game played until the very end but unfortunately the team fell short of the win by a score of 6-12.  The point leaders on the day were Robery Buchhorn with 2 goals and 1 assist, and Hayden Parsons, Hayden Pinkerton, Matt Davies, and Xavier Fiorentini each had a goal in the game.  The team hopes to train hard this week in order to earn a tough win when they face a tough Caulfield team on July 29, 2017 at 2:45pm at Angliss Reserve 1.

Our great state league team took on a tough Eltham team this past Saturday with a beat-up squad.  The team jumped out quick to a lead but Eltham climbed back in the game with a small scoring streak of their own.  The game ended with Footscray taking the win with a score of 11-10.  The leading scorers on the day were Jordan Germershausen with 3 goals and 1 assist, Jim Lawerson with 2 goals and 1 assist, Peter Kwas with 2 goals, and Dane Kowal, Jordan Aldred (home player credited with an eltham own goal), Kane Mollison, and Miles Blair all contributed with a goal each.  The team looks to return players from injury and holiday this coming weekend as they face MCC at 2:45pm at Albert Ground 1.

Women’s Divisions

Our under 13 girls team had a bye this past weekend.  The girls have been training hard in hopes of winning their game this coming weekend against a good Newport team at 9:00am at Dorothy Laver Reserve 2.

The under 15 girls team played a tough opponent in Williamstown Women Blue this past weekend.  The girls played well together in getting the win by a score of 16-4.  The point leaders on the day were Nikala Patsolaridis with 5 goals and 2 assists, Lily Gerardi with 3 goals, Lucinda Brewer and Meg Friend each had 2 goals in the win as well.  The team looks to keep things rolling this coming weekend as they face Williamstown Women Gold at 10:15am at Dorothy Laver Reserve West 1.

Our terrific under 17 girls team played Williamstown Women this past weekend in a tough game.  The girls played very well in this game coming out on top by a score of 11-4.  The point leaders on the day were Nikala Patsolaridis with 6 goals, Georgia Latch with 2 goals, and Bonnie Yu, Lucinda Brewer, and Isabella Murphy each with a goal in the game.  The team looks to keep up the high scoring as they face Eastside this coming weekend at 11:30am at Treyvaud Memorial Reserve 1.

The A grade women’s team took on a good Altona team this past weekend and played a tough game.  The team played hard and fast in earning this victory with a score of 9-5.  The point scorers on the day were Rhiannon Birch with 3 goals and 2 assists, Emily Prentice with 3 goals, Melanie Lawerson with 2 goals, and Isabella Murphy with 1 goal.  The team looks to keep the winning ways alive as they take on Eltham/Melbourne University at 2:00pm at Treyvaud Memorial Reserve 1.

The second round of the 7v7 competition was this past weekend with the girls taking on Caulfield.  The game was a back and forth game with the Footscray girls coming out on top with a score of 13-6.  The point leaders on the day were Danelle Mollison with 5 goals and 3 assists, Bonnie Yu with 3 goals and 1 assists, and Georgia Latch 1 goal and 2 assists.  The team looks to keep up the hard work and winning ways as they face Williamstown Women on Sunday July 30, 2017 at 3:15pm at Treyvaud Memorial Reserve 1.
