Men’s Divisions

This past weekend all three of our under 11 teams were back in action.  The Green team took on a solid Williamstown Deacon team and played a tough game.  The final score of the game was 10-7 in favor of Williamstown Deacon.  The point leaders on the day were Harrison Lester with 3 goals, Samuel Tonelli with 1 goal and 4 assists, and Stanley Webb with 2 goals and 1 assist.  Our Silver under 11 team faced a tough opponent in Altona this past weekend and played a very good game from start to finish.  Although the team did not get the win losing by a score of 15-13 the team played very hard and is starting to play more as a team.  The point leaders on the day were Grace Gilmartin with 6 goals and 3 assists, Niamh Dann-South had 2 goals and 3 assists, Isabelle Thomas 3 goals and 1 assists while Sophie Janusko was a rock in the cage making multiple saves on the day.  Our final under 11 team the White team took on Wyndham this past weekend and put together a complete game.  The final score of the game was 27-1 with our boys getting the win.  The point leaders on the day were Jake Mannix with 8 goals and 5 assists, Will Vasilevski with 6 goals and 3 assists, Gus Crawford with 3 goals and 4 assists, and Valerio Catoggio with 7 assists.  All three teams are back in action this coming Saturday August 5, 2017.  The under 11 girls will be playing friendly round robin games against Newport, Camberwell, and Williamstown on Sunday August 6 at home.

Under 13’s this week had a very tough opponent in Surrey Park.  The team played hard but unfortunately did not come out with a win with the final score being 20-1.  The two point leaders on the day were Gryffyn Mcconville with 1 goal and Thomas Olsen with the 1 assist on the goal.  The team hopes to train hard this week so that this coming weekend they can get that much-needed win.  The team takes on Altona/Wyndham on Saturday August 5, 2017 at Angliss Reserve 1 at 9:00am.

The under 15’s played a tough game against Malvern/Chadstone this past weekend.  The team played hard and together for the full length of the game getting the win 7-5.  The point leaders on the day were Kyle Chamberlain with 4 goals, Henry Murphy with 2 goals, and Elliot Johns with 1 goal and 1 assist.  The team looks to keep up the hard work as they take on Altona at 10:30am at Angliss Reserve 1.

Our under 17 team played a very good Williamstown team this past weekend.  The game was a back and forth game with our boys coming out on top by a score of 6-5.  The point leaders on the day were Joel Kukucka with 4 goals, and Jasper Hanna Roberts with 2 goals and another excellent performance by the defense and goalie in particular by Blake Watson coming up with huge save after huge save.  The team looks to keep up the hard work as they play against Melbourne High School this coming Saturday August 5, 2017 at Angliss Reserve 1 at 10:30am.

Our tough division 3 team played a good Chadstone team this past weekend.  The team played a very hard and dominated the game getting the win with a score of 16-4.  The point leaders on the day were Jamie Gathercole with 8 goals, Greg Mollison and Brendon Fuzy each with 3 goals, and Hayden Pinkerton and Nick Patsolaridis each had 1 goal and 1 assist on the day.  The team looks to keep up the hard work as they take on a tough Malvern team this Saturday August 5,2017 at Angliss Reserve 1 at 12:45pm.

The Division 1 team this past weekend took on Caulfield a good team who plays hard in every game.  It was a dominate performance by the our Footscray boys as they won by a score of 16-0.  The point leaders on the day were Matt Davies with 4 goals and 2 assists, Richard Tonelli with 4 goals and 1 assist, and Xavier Fiorentini with 2 goals and 1 assist.  The team hopes to train hard this week to get better as they have a bye this coming weekend August 5, 2017.

Our great state league team took on a tough MCC team this past weekend. The team welcomed back a couple of players from holiday and injury, MCC jumped out to an early lead but our boys clawed their way back and by three quarter time saw themselves in front and held on to win 14-11. The point leaders on the day were Jim Lawerson with 4 goals and 2 assists, Jordan Germershausen with 3 goals and 1 assist, and Peter Kwas with 2 goals and 2 assists.  The team looks to keep up the hard work as the take on a great Camberwell team in a top of the table clash this Saturday August 5, 2017 at 2:45pm at Angliss Reserve 1.

Women’s Divisions

It was great to see all of our women’s teams wearing their new uniforms this week.

Our under 13 girls team took on a good Newport team coming off of their bye week.  The team played a great game coming away with the 9-2 victory.  The point leaders on the day were Mihiri Dharmabandu with 4 goals and 1 assist, Tara Gilmartin with 2 goals, and Abbie Yu, Isabelle Thomas, and Greta Murphy all had 1 goal.  The team looks to keep up the hard work as they take on Williamstown Women Blue this coming Sunday August 6, 2017 at 9:00am at Angliss Reserve 1.

The under 15 girls team played a tough opponent in Williamstown Women Gold this past weekend. The team had a dominating performance coming away with the win 14-3. The girls looked as good as they played sporting the new uniforms.  The point leaders on the day were Nikala Patsolaridis with 6 goals and 2 assists, Mihiri Dharmabandu and Alannah Hibbard each had 3 goals.  The team looks to keep up the hard work as they face Wyndham Manor Lakes this Sunday August 6, 2017 at 10:15am at Angliss Reserve 1.

Our terrific under 17 girls team played Eastside this past weekend wearing their new uniforms and looking great while playing great.  The game was a back and forth contest with the girls coming out on top 9-8.  The point leaders on the day were Bonnie Yu with 3 goals, Nikala Patsolaridis with 3 goals and 1 assist and Georgia Latch with 1 goal and 1 assist.

The A grade women’s team took on a good Altona team this past weekend and played a tough game.  The women played a great game showing off their new uniforms and getting a great win by a score of 7-5.  The point leaders on the day were Samantha Smith with 2 goals, Isabella Murphy with 2 goals and Melanie Lawerson, Georgia Tucker and Laruen Mclain each contributed with a goal.  The team looks to train hard this week and next as they have a bye this coming weekend.

The third round of the 7v7 competition was this past weekend with the girls taking on Williamstown Women.  The team played another complete game as they won by a score of 16-10.  The point leaders on the day were Danielle Mollison with 7 goals and 1 assist, Stephanie Kelly 2 goal and 2 assists, and Georgia Latch with 4 goals and 4 assists.  The team looks to keep up the dominance as they take on Caulfield on Sunday August 6, 2017 at 3:15pm at Angliss Reserve 1.
