Men’s Divisions

This past weekend all three of our under 11 teams were back in action at home.  Our Green team played a good Altona side that played a very good game.  The team came up short of the victory falling 13-8.  The leading point scorers on the day were Harrison Lester with 3 goals and 2 assists, Samuel Tonelli with 2 goals and 2 assists, and Zak Antin and Piers Mccoll each had two points.

Our Silver under 11 team faced a tough opponent in Surrey Park Red this past weekend and gave them all they can handle getting the win 7-2.  The point leaders on the day were Lillian Walsh with 2 goals and 2 assists, Isabelle Thomas with 2 goals and 1 assist and Niamh Dann-South with 1 goal and 2 assists.

Our final under 11 team the White team took on Surrey Park White team that was very talented.  The team played a complete game getting the victory 30-2.  The point leaders on the day were Jack Gerardi with 12 goals and 3 assists, Gus Crawford 4 goals and 6 assists, and Valerio Catoggio with 3 goals and 6 assists. It was great to see Footscray Primary Sport’s Teacher Chris Wilson on the sidelines supporting the kids that attend his school and also play in the White team.

All three under 11 teams will be in action this coming Saturday at Camberwell Lacrosse Club in the lighting carnival. It would be great to see as many people at the game as possible to support the future of our club.

Our terrific under 13 team played a combined Altona Wyndham side this week and fought hard but ulimately lost 12-1. Our lone goal scorer on the day was Ben Kiely assisted by Oliver Jansson.

The under 15’s played a tough game against Altona this past weekend.  It was a good game to watch with the team getting the win 11-2.  The point leaders on the day were Elliot Johns with 6 goals and 3 assists, Kyle Chamberlain with 4 goals and 1 assist, and Dean Apradis with 1 goal.  The team looks to keep up the hard work as they take on Surrey Park at 10:30am at Angliss Reserve 1.

Our under 17 team played a very good Melbourne High School team this past weekend.  The final score of the hard fought game was 17-0 in favor of our boys. The scoring was well spread out on the day with the team playing a great team game. The team looks to keep up the chemistry as they take on Moreland/Surrey Park this coming Saturday August 12, 2017 at 10:30am at Angliss Reserve 1.

Our tough division 3 team were scheduled to play Malvern but unfortunately they gave us a walk over.  The team looks to hit training hard this week as they play Melbourne University this coming weekend August 12, 2017 at 12:45pm at Angliss Reserve 1.

The Division 1 team this past weekend had a bye.  The team hoped to train hard this week so that they can take it to Melbourne University their next opponent on Saturday August 12, 2017 at 2:45pm at Angliss Reserve 1.

Our great state league team took on a tough Camberwell team this past weekend.  This was a battle between the top two teams in the league right now.  It was a great game with our guys getting the victory 18-7.  The point leaders on the day were Anthony Biscardi with 5 goals, Peter Kwas with 3 goals and 2 assists, and James Lawerson with 3 goals and 1 assist.  The team looks to keep up the hard work as the take on a great Caulfield team this Saturday August 12, 2017 at 2:45pm at Angliss Reserve 1.

Women’s Divisions

Our central venue round was a great success, thank you to everyone that helped out on the day to make it run so smoothly. The weather wasn’t great but it was nice to see the sun come out later in the day.

It was great to see the Under 11 girls playing in a friendly round robin tournament against Williamstown, Newport and Camberwell yesterday. Special thanks to Di Prentice who has helped make this happen.

Our under 13 girls team took on a good Williamstown Women Blue team this past weekend.  It was a good game with the girls coming out on top 10-5.  The point leaders on the day were Mihiri Dharmabandu with 6 goals, Greta Murphy, Ebony Norman, Mabel Murphy, and Stella Olsen each had a goal as well.  The team looks to keep up the hard work as they take on Camberwell this coming Sunday August 6, 2017 at 9:00am at Dorothy Laver Reserve West 1.

The under 15 girls team played a tough opponent in Wyndham Manor Lakes this past weekend.  Unfortunately, Wyndham gave us the walk over on the day so the girls got the win.  The girls look ahead as they play a good Camberwell team this coming Sunday August 13, 2017 at 10:15am at Dorothy Laver Reserve West 1.

Our terrific under 17 girls team played Eltham/Camberwell this past weekend.  Unfortunately, it was another walk over for the girls getting the 10-0 win.  The girls look forward to this coming weekend as they face Williamstown Women at 11:30am at Greenwich Reserve 1 on Sunday August 13, 2017.

The A grade women’s team this past Sunday had a bye.  The team trained hard this week so that they can take it to their next opponent in Surrey Park.  The play at 1:15pm at Angliss Reserve 1 on Sunday August 13, 2017.

The 7 v 7 competition wrapped up this week with our Women’s State League team playing Caulfield this past Sunday.  It was a well-played game with the girls getting the one-sided victory 10-4.  The point leaders on the day were Stephanie Kelly with 2 goals and 2 assists, Danelle Mollison, Esther Lavelle, Georgia Latch, and Bonnie Yu each contributed with 2 goals.  The team looks to keep up the good work as the face a great Newport at 3:00pm at P.J. Lynch Reserve 1 on Sunday August 12, 2017.
